NTT to extend Asia Submarine-cable Express to Cambodia

June 13, 2014

NTT Communications is extending its Asia Submarine-cable Express (ASE) system to Cambodia, a move that will enable it to capitalize on the growth of multinational companies operating in the Mekong region.
The service provider said the extension is based on an agreement it signed with Cambodian firm Chuan Wei, under which NTT Com will lay Cambodia's first submarine optical fiber cable.
ASE will provide services connecting Cambodia and other countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion, with major locations elsewhere in Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.
Loaded with practical recommendations for improving the mobile user experience, this new Forrester report is the ultimate guide for those responsible for mobile quality.
An additional benefit to Cambodia is the extension will provide local customers with what NTT claims are "higher quality Internet network services."
In 2012, ASE, which connects multiple Asian cities, began operations. Initially offering 40G of capacity, it has since upgraded it to 100G technology with a total carrying capacity exceeding 15 Tbps.
